"The books gave Matilda a comforting message: you are not alone"-Roald Dahl
I love networking and meeting new people so when I discovered that there is a blogger out there who is a mother of two, like myself, and who shares similar interests such as myself, I had to meet her.
In fact, we both live in Stockholm, Sweden and we are both working mothers, who have had to adjust to new environments. We enjoy reading and writing (including blogging). She had learned Swedish in three months....I, too, had to learn Swedish in a short amount of time.
Kat and I met in T-Centralen and took a nice walk to the nearby sushi/Chinese restaurant called, Holiday. We got our meals and sat across from one another under a friendly and cozy ambiance. We talked about our life experiences including how it was like living in London, how we had met our husbands, what it was like to learn Swedish, why we had decided to move to Sweden, what we liked to do during our free time and of course, her sons and my daughters.
Therefore, the incredible thing about internet is that it helps us connect to people and takes globalization to a whole new level of meaning. My interest in reading other people´s written works is what led me to find "English mamma."
My novel, "So Complicated" is centered around this very topic of how internet connects and influences people.
So, always network, always meet new people because you can share ideas with each other and somehow, influence one another on a positive level. Not to mention, they give you the same message that the books gave to Matilda.
