Just sent in your mansucript to a publisher or literary agent? Congratulations! This also means you are constantly checking your email or post/mailbox, hoping to discover a positive reply. Here is what you can do while you wait:

Have Faith: Believe in yourself and the world will believe in you. I keep telling myself this every time. This is also what keeps me grounded if rejection letters come along.

Keep writing/editing: I personally have three other novels that are unpublished. I wrote them years ago. I have not given up on them yet. You shouldn´t give up writing either, even if it´s a blog entry!

Enter writing contests: There are a lot of writing contests/competitions you can enter . Google is golden! I recently entered an unpublished manuscript into the Stockholm Writing Festival! I may not win, but I find comfort in knowing that I tried (Have faith!).

Read: Been so busy writing that you haven´t had much time to read for pleasure? This is your opportunity! For me, the more I read, the more I become inspired! I look at my favorite authors and I think, ´´this could be me some day.´´ It gives me a push to continue doing what I love. What am I reading now? I just finished reading ´´Saints and Misfits´´ and have begun reading the ´´Shatter Me´´ book series.

Laugh: We, writers, can get pretty serious sometimes. When we are at a loss for words, the best thing to do is laugh.
